Nicole Torkar – Managing Partner
Qualifications – Grad. Dip, BA, MA. Marketing (University of Melbourne), Full member of AMSRS.
Nicole is a senior insights executive with more than 20 years of experience. Before joining Market Solutions, Nicole was the Executive General Manager at Newspoll, and Executive Director Marketing Services in IPSOS. Preceding IPSOS, Nicole was the Australian Executive Director at AC Nielsen where she was responsible for business performance, strategic development, executive retention and mentoring, communications and product development for the FMCG, Financial Services, Automotive, Public Enterprise and Qualitative Divisions.
Nicole was formerly a trustee member of the Committee for Economic Development in Australia, Victoria CEDA CEO roundtable member and Ministerial advisor as a measurement expert for Tourism Australia’s Marketing Effectiveness Whitepaper.
Daniela Iarossi – Associate Research Director
Qualifications – BA of Social Science (Sociology and Psychology) (Australian Catholic University), Melbourne; BA Psychological Science (Australian Catholic University), Melbourne; Full member of AMSRS.
Daniela brings her industry and academic understanding of the research cycle from interviewing to analysis and reporting – having previously worked with Q&A Market Research, The Social Research Centre, Deakin University and the Australian Catholic University – to Market Solutions.
Notably, prior to joining Market Solutions, she was part of the team who operationalised the framework and implementation of the largest survey program in Australia – the Quality indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) survey suite. QILT is a suite of national higher education surveys endorsed by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training that covers the student life cycle from commencement to employment.
Dr Benjamin Ognjanov – Senior Research Consultant
Qualifications – Qualified Practising Market Researcher (QPMR), PhD in Economics, (Central University of Finance and Economics), Beijing; Master in Marketing (Victoria University) Melbourne; Full member of AMSRS.
Benjamin has worked in research for over 20 years working both on the client and supplier side of the market research industry. He has wide ranging experience in quantitative research projects; experienced in designing, programming and hosting online research.
Specialising in using research results to direct marketing and business strategies as well as informing policy decisions, Benjamin prides himself on providing clients with effective tools for decision-making.
Design, management and reporting of quantitative studies, questionnaire development, data interpretation and modelling are part of Benjamin’s skills, other skills include, Customer Insight, Report Writing, Segmentation, SPSS, Multivariate analysis and Econometric modelling.
Carlos Ortegón –Senior Research Consultant
Qualifications – Master in Marketing (Victoria University), Melbourne; Master in Sociology (Pontifical Catholic University of Chile), Chile; BA in Sociology, (St Thomas University), Colombia; Member of AMSRS.
Carlos has over six years of consulting experience in research, business development and marketing. He worked at Deloitte in Chile as a Research Manager advising Latin American companies in the development of research and supporting regional studies elaborated by the firm. He has been involved designing, implementing and presenting studies to support companies, organisations and governments to make informed decisions.
Carlos has also participated in quantitative and qualitative studies in many industries including consumer and industrial products, energy and resources, financial services, and public sector.
Implementation of large-scale surveys that requires strong project management skills, is Carlos’ strength, being involved with surveys such as Latinobarometro, an annual public opinion survey involves more than 18,000 representative interviews in 18 Latin American countries.
Steve Comiskey – Operations Manager
Qualifications – Advanced Diploma in Marketing, (Dublin Institute of Technology) Dublin; Bachelor of Science in Management (Trinity College) Dublin; Full Member of AMSRS.
Steve learnt analysis and research in London across the 1990’s, starting as an interviewer in 1993 and working up to running a Telephone Centre before moving across to Data Processing. Learning Data Processing, first in the fast turnaround environment of Opinion Polls at National Opinion Polls (NOP), before moving on to manage tracking projects at RSL (now IPSOS).
Steve also spent several years contracting for the major Research companies in Ireland, before moving to Melbourne in 2005, to work for DBM Consultants – working primarily on tracking projects, and has spent the last few years in the online environment.
Tony Pisano – Assistant Field Manager
Qualifications – Bachelor of Business (Monash University) Melbourne, ADMA- Direct Marketing, Business (RMIT) Melbourne.
Tony has decades of experience with multi-nationals in marketing and communications before joining Market Solutions in 2014. Tony assists with staff training of CATI and face to face staff, assist with coordinating field work, and also involved with assisting with ISO 20252 internal auditing.
Martin Da Cruz – Field Supervisor
Qualifications – Bachelor of Arts/Education Majoring in Politics and History
Fresh out of high school, Martin began working at Market Solutions as a market research interviewer in 2005, he was trained and put to task on intercept work, he progressed to qualitative research projects including mystery shopping and some executive interviewing, and soon became a Team Leader. Martin is now Field Supervisor and helps coordinate field activities and interviewer management.
Conrad Bird – Company Director
Qualifications – Conrad holds many and varied qualifications in the mechanical and InfoTech arena. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Small Business Specialist.
Conrad has worked as a trusted IT advisor for two decades for an array of businesses and organisations in Victoria, NSW, Queensland, and Western Australia for manufacturers, businesses, and not-for-profit organisations which include; legal entities, transport industry, manufacturing industry, aged care, security and medical businesses.
Conrad and his team are responsible for business continuity from an IT perspective for these entities and for Market Solutions adoption of Microsoft Best Practices as a minimum standard. He is responsible for all IT activities, systems, IT continuity and managing the IT infrastructure at Market Solutions.
In addition, Conrad also brings business survival skills attained over 20 years using business negotiation skills and innovation to ensure Market Solutions stays competitive.
Belinda Tsao – Managing Partner
Qualifications – Bachelor Science (Monash University) Melbourne, AMSRS Associate.
Belinda has helped build a reputable and sustainable IT business with an engaged and high-performance team. Over the last 19 years, she had to help navigate SBSA through uncertain and challenging times; surviving tough online competition, disappearing margins in hardware sales, the global financial crisis and big changes in the technology arena. Belinda strategically transitioned SBSA towards business IT support, IT security, IT consultation, data security, ‘Cloud’ services as well as moved SBSA and clients through different pricing strategies over the years to ensure SBSA stays financially viable.
In 2016, Belinda made the decision to expand into the research industry bringing with her a team with technology know-how and her commitment to understanding the needs of the people that Market Solutions is serving, internally and externally.
At Market Solutions, Belinda is responsible for the key hiring of staff, delegation of tasks, and her job is to ensure that personnel are supported with adequate resources, tools, and processes.
