Erik Okerstrom – Research Director
Qualifications – Qualified Practising Market Researcher (QPMR), Master in Marketing (RMIT) Melbourne, Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (University of Melbourne) Melbourne, Graduate Diploma in Marketing (RMIT), Melbourne, Full Member of AMSRS.
Erik is proficient in both qualitative and quantitative research and has over 20 years research and analytics experience (10 client side, 12 supplier side). He manages project teams to conduct statistical analysis and report writing (to publishable quality) across a broad range of government and commercial sectors. An end-to-end research director, Erik values being, first and foremost, a business focused marketer with highly tuned research and analytical skills.
Focus group moderation and in-depth interviewing also form part of his toolkit and he often designs research projects with questionnaires or approaches that require mixed methodologies that include; paper, online, CATI, mobile device, focus groups, depth interviews and complex sample designs.
Dr Benjamin Ognjanov – Senior Market Consultant
Qualifications – Qualified Practising Market Researcher (QPMR), PhD in Economics, (Central University of Finance and Economics), Beijing, Master in Marketing (Victoria University) Melbourne, Full member of AMSRS.
Benjamin has worked in research for over 20 years working both on the client and supplier side of the market research industry. He has wide ranging experience in quantitative research projects; experienced in designing, programming and hosting online research.
Specialising in using research results to direct marketing and business strategies as well as informing policy decisions, Benjamin prides himself on providing clients with effective tools for decision-making.
Design, management and reporting of quantitative studies, questionnaire development, data interpretation and modelling are part of Benjamin’s skills, other skills include, Customer Insight, Report Writing, Segmentation, SPSS, Multivariate analysis and Econometric modelling.
Carlos Ortegón –Senior Research Consultant
Qualifications – Master in Marketing (Victoria University) Melbourne, Master in Sociology (Pontifical University), Chile; BA in Sociology, (St Thomas University), Colombia, Member of AMSRS.
Carlos has over five years of consulting experience in research, business development and marketing. He worked at Deloitte in Chile as a Research Manager advising Latin American companies in the development of research and supporting regional studies elaborated by the firm. He has been involved designing, implementing and presenting studies to support companies, organisations and governments to make informed decisions.
Carlos has also participated in quantitative and qualitative studies in many industries including consumer and industrial products, energy and resources, financial services, and public sector.
Implementation of large scale surveys that requires strong project management skills, is Carlos’ strength, being involved with surveys such as Latinobarometro, an annual public opinion survey involves more than 18,000 representative interviews in 18 Latin American countries.
Steve Comiskey – Data Processing Manager
Qualifications – Advanced Diploma in Marketing, (Dublin Institute of Technology) Dublin, Bachelor of Science in Management (Trinity College) Dublin. Full Member of AMSRS.
Steve learnt analysis and research in London across the 1990’s, starting as an interviewer in 1993 and working up to running a Telephone Centre before moving across to Data Processing. Learning Data Processing, first in the fast turnaround environment of Opinion Polls at National Opinion Polls (NOP), before moving on to manage tracking projects at RSL (now IPSOS).
Steve also spent several years contracting for the major Research companies in Ireland, before moving to Melbourne in 2005, to work for DBM Consultants – working primarily on tracking projects, and has spent the last few years in the online environment.
Steve Luxa – Field Manager
Qualifications – Certificate 4, Business Computer Applications, Full member AMSRS.
Steve has expertise in all areas of data collection within the Market Research industry. He has been responsible for up to 30 direct reports and over 600 casuals at various times during his career. He was also responsible for evaluating, costing, employing staff and opening a 100-seat call centre in New Zealand. Steve has presented papers dealing with Data Collection on three occasions at the AMSRS National Conferences. He was Chair of the Field Manager’s Group in Sydney for 2 years.
He has experience managing large teams of face to face fieldworkers across Australia on projects such as Radio & Television Diary placements, Brandscan panels and Omnibus surveys. Initiated and implemented AS 4752 and ISO 20252 Quality Assurance accreditation for a tier one company in Australia. Steve has also conducted face to face depth interviews, focus groups, moderated online communities, and recruitment for all types of in depth data collection.
Tony Pisano – Assistant Field Manager
Qualifications – Bachelor of Business (Monash University) Melbourne, ADMA- Direct Marketing, Business (RMIT) Melbourne.
Tony has decades of experience with multi-nationals in marketing and communications before joining Market Solutions in 2014. Tony assists with staff training of CATI and face to face staff, assist with coordinating field work, and also involved with assisting with ISO 20252 internal auditing.
Phillip Anderson – Field Supervisor
Qualifications – Bachelor of Arts in History with Honours (Victoria University) Melbourne, Diploma of IT (RMIT) Melbourne.
Phil started in Market Solutions in 2001 as an interviewer, in 2011 he became a Field Supervisor for our call centre supervising and training CATI interviewers as well as coordinating field activities.
Martin Da Cruz – Field Supervisor
Qualifications – Bachelor of Arts/Education Majoring in Politics and History
Fresh out of high school, Martin began working at Market Solutions as a market research interviewer in 2005, he was trained and put to task on intercept work, he progressed to qualitative research projects including mystery shopping and some executive interviewing, and soon became a Team Leader. Martin is now Field Supervisor and helps coordinate field activities and interviewer management.
Tania McKenzie – Payroll Manager
Qualifications – Training in accounting and office administration since 2011.
Tania’s career started many years ago as a medical receptionist, then she moved into the legal field as Accounts Supervisor then later as Assistant Accountant. She started with Market Solutions in 2011 as the Office Manager, Tania is now our Payroll Manager.
Graham Cameron – Marketing Manager
Qualifications – Master of Business Administration, (AGSE Swinburne) Melbourne, BTEC Electrical & Electronic Engineering UK.
Graham qualified in the UK before migrating to Melbourne. Since arriving he has project managed work at Nissan Australia, BHP, attained the title of Top Sales Consultant – National 3 years running. As State Manager of a multi-national he grew market share in the Telco industry for his employer by 30% before starting his own marketing agency in 2002, whilst completing an MBA with Honours.
Graham built a client portfolio including Victoria’s DPC and Treasury, multi-nationals such as Roche and Yamaha, as well many other B2C and B2B industries. He directed qualitative research in product development for pharma clients, developed the world’s 5th largest podcast directory, and developed an e-commerce business in gifts.
Conrad Bird – Company Director
Qualifications – Conrad holds many and varied qualifications in the mechanical and InfoTech arena. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Small Business Specialist.
Conrad has worked as a trusted IT advisor for two decades for an array of businesses and organisations in Victoria, NSW, Queensland, and Western Australia for manufacturers, businesses, and not-for-profit organisations which include; legal entities, transport industry, manufacturing industry, aged care, security and medical businesses.
Conrad and his team are responsible for business continuity from an IT perspective for these entities and for Market Solutions adoption of Microsoft Best Practices as a minimum standard. He is responsible for all IT activities, systems, IT continuity and managing the IT infrastructure at Market Solutions.
In addition, Conrad also brings business survival skills attained over 20 years using business negotiation skills and innovation to ensure Market Solutions stays competitive.
Belinda Tsao – Managing Director
Qualifications – Bachelor Science (Monash University) Melbourne, AMSRS Associate.
Belinda has helped build a reputable and sustainable IT business with an engaged and high-performance team. Over the last 19 years, she had to help navigate SBSA through uncertain and challenging times; surviving tough online competition, disappearing margins in hardware sales, the global financial crisis and big changes in the technology arena. Belinda strategically transitioned SBSA towards business IT support, IT security, IT consultation, data security, ‘Cloud’ services as well as moved SBSA and clients through different pricing strategies over the years to ensure SBSA stays financially viable.
In 2016, Belinda made the decision to expand into the research industry bringing with her a team with technology know-how and her commitment to understanding the needs of the people that Market Solutions is serving, internally and externally.
At Market Solutions, Belinda is responsible for the key hiring of staff, delegation of tasks, and her job is to ensure that personnel are supported with adequate resources, tools, and processes.
